The Role
Siemens Energy is looking for an experienced Quality Manager (QMiP) to join the Project Management team for the landmark NeuConnect Substation Converter project. Reporting to the Head of Quality and the Project Director, you will act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all quality-related activities throughout the project lifecycle.
As a core member of the project team, you will have the authority to intervene in proceedings to protect project integrity, ensuring that quality assurance is not just a checkbox, but a driver of success.
Key Responsibilities

Leadership: Manage and monitor quality assurance resources and inspection teams on-site.

Customer Interface: Act as the primary point of contact for the customer regarding quality, ensuring all issues and NRCs (Non-Conformance Reports) are closed to their satisfaction.

Compliance & Auditing: Lead day-to-day quality tasks including auditing, inspections, CAPA management, and continuous improvement.

Risk Mitigation: Assist Work Package Managers in failure prevention and the identification of qualification shortcomings.

Technical Guidance: Train project staff in quality methodologies (Risk Analysis, FMEA, 8-D Method) and process awareness.

Supply Chain: Oversee supplier selection and conduct ongoing surveillance/monitoring of project-specific vendors.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
-
Experience: Minimum 5+ years in a Senior Operational Quality Management role within a project office or large infrastructure environment.

Industry Focus: Proven track record in highly regulated industries (Energy, Transmission, or Heavy Infrastructure).

Qualifications: Certified Lead Auditor.

Project Expertise: Experience working within a matrix organization on large-scale EPC/Infrastructure projects.

Compliance: Strong CDM awareness and experience applying it in a site environment.

Soft Skills: Ability to influence at all levels, from site engineers to Project Directors.

Logistics: Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel as required.
Desirable:

Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or IT Engineering.

Siemens QMiP (Cat A/B) certification or Chartered Quality Professional status.

National Grid "Persons" or similar site authorizations.

IOSH Managing Safely.
